Lightman - Incipit
Updated: Oct 7

It is said that, in the dawn of time, light and darkness shared a single core of energy, which the ancient prophets called 'labris'. The energy of the former balanced that of the latter, allowing the two to coexist in perfect harmony in the universe. However, one day, a sudden explosion caused by a meteor shattered the labris, and its fragments generated objects and creatures of light and darkness that were cast down to Earth. Separated, light and darkness became powerful centres of energy, capable of altering the universe's forces and magnetic fields. A small portion of these fragments contained the essence of light (lacris) and darkness (tebris). Following the explosion, they reached the farthest corners of the Earth, where they remained unknown to humankind for centuries. However, if a human wandered into a tebris's energy field, their soul would be sucked away. They would begin committing acts of cruelty against others of their kind, especially those who held fragments of primordial light. It is said that three tebris were brought to Earth by the explosion, and that their energy caused humanity's desire to dominate other peoples and the outbreak of the numerous wars recorded in history books.
From the fragments of light reacting with Earth's surface, mutant beings were generated. Because they could transmute dark objects into pure light energy, other humans called them 'transmutators.' Respected by the beings of light and feared by those of darkness, the transmutators constantly worked to maintain the balance of the universe's forces, shaken by the primordial schism. One of these was named Lightman. His armour, made of cosmic matter, changed brightness in the presence of energy fragments. His cloak, made of stardust, allowed him to traverse great distances in a short time.
Lightman was born in a small town in Colorado and remained unaware of his powers for a long time, which lay dormant until, during a journey, he entered the magnetic field of a lacris that activated them. From that moment on, his life changed completely, and Lightman found his true vocation: to restore the forces of the universe. To this end, he initially decided to undertake the search for lacris on Earth, convinced that the energy of light was stronger than that of darkness. His research led him to rediscover three lacris, lost in the depths of the oceans. However, he soon realised this was not enough to keep the shadows at bay, and he began searching for tebris to destroy them and proclaim the victory of light.
